A Flagship Direction of VAI

Veterinary Longevity.

Healthspan medicine for the future of veterinary practice. Evidence-aware, scientifically grounded, clinically translatable.

Dedicated Platform

Veterinary Longevity has its own platform.

Veterinary Longevity is developed as a flagship educational direction within VAI and has a dedicated platform at VeterinaryLongevity.com, with the full framework, programmes, and current developments.

Definition

What Veterinary Longevity Means.

Veterinary Longevity is the science and clinical practice of extending healthspan, delaying biological decline, and improving quality of life by identifying, measuring, and modifying the mechanisms and risk factors that drive aging and age-related disease in animals.

It is not anti-aging marketing. It is an evidence-aware educational framework for understanding healthspan, decline, risk, prevention, and quality of life.

Why It Matters

Animals are living longer. The clinical question is no longer only how long. It is how well. Veterinary Longevity gives clinicians a framework to engage with that question seriously.

Beyond Senior Care

A different question.

Senior care often treats the consequences of aging. Veterinary Longevity aims to understand, detect, monitor, and modify the processes that drive aging, decline, and loss of quality of life, earlier, and with greater precision.

The Framework

The Five Pillars.

01

Biological Aging

Mechanisms, biomarkers, and the science of decline.

02

Early Detection and Risk Stratification

Identifying age-related risk before disease becomes irreversible.

03

Preventive and Proactive Intervention

Evidence-aware strategies that modify trajectory.

04

Clinical Integration

Translating concept into routine clinical workflow.

05

Evidence, Ethics, and Scientific Integrity

Honest grading of what is known, emerging, and hypothetical.

Clinical Translation
"Every concept in Veterinary Longevity must ultimately answer one question: what does this mean on Monday morning in a real clinic?"
Veterinary Professional Longevity

The healthspan of the profession.

The healthspan of the profession matters as much as the healthspan of the patient. Veterinary Longevity also examines the sustainability, wellbeing, and longevity of veterinary professionals themselves.

Future Programmes

Structured Veterinary Longevity programmes are in development under VAI. Programme outlines and faculty announcements will be published in due course.
